War in the Middle East

The current trend in the middle east as in the fight between israel and lebanon really makes me belive that the world is going to an end.
Let them allow us worry about Iraq and USA , Somalia,Liberia, and the debt ridden African countries.
The hunger in the Poor third world countries.
Let the world leaders allow peace to reign by mediating because i watched in horro the bombing.
Lets experience peace for onec.
Coming to Nigeria lets play politics without rancour, bitterness, and strife.

Calabar has its charms
Indeed,
Calabar is a sweet spot in Nigeria. I was lucky to work in CRS for almost 2 months in 2004. I live in Indiana, a small state in the US that is also considered quite tranquil and quiet. It makes a good quality of life.

But I do miss Calabar Sunday afternoons watching soccer - the lively music scene and cool sips of cool Nigerian beer. Everyone was really nice to me there, and I'll always remember this.

If done right, Calabar could develop itself as a tourist magnet - there's a great airport, and plenty of interesting things to see around.

I work with plants, and have developed an interest in the cultivation of Afang. By any chance, do you know the eminent polymath botanist, Emmanuel Obot? But I think he is from Akwa Ibom.

Nevertheless, I liked your Calabar post!
